Manali - Kaza - Tabo -  Sangla - Sarahan - Shimla

Day 01: Delhi - Manali (560 kms)

Travel by car/jeep from Delhi to Manali. On arrival check-in in the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 02: Manali

AM free. PM half  day city sight seeing including Hadimba Temple, Manu Temple, Tibetan Monastery and Vashisht Village. Overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 03: Manali - Batal (100 kms)

Travel by jeep from Manali to Batal over the Rohtang Pass (3980 m). Overnight in tents at Batal.

 

Day 04: Batal - Kaza (88 kms)

Travel by jeep from Batal to Kaza by jeep over the Kunzam Pass (4558 m). Overnight in tents at Kaza.

 

Day 05: Kaza

Morning visit the Ki monastery, 12 kms from Kaza. This centuries – old gompa is a labyrinth of rooms and corridors. It houses valuable thangkas and offers a panoramic view of the area. Also visit the small gompa at Kibber, 9 kms further ahead. Kibber at 4205 m has the distinction of being the highest permanently inhabited village of the region. Overnight in tents at Kaza.

 

Day 06: Kaza

An excursion visiting Pin Valley, the land of Ibex and Snow Leopards. Also visit an old monastery Gungri monastery in Pin Valley. Overnight in tents at Kaza.

 

Day 07: Kaza – Tabo (48 kms)

Travel by jeep from Kaza to Tabo by jeep enroute visiting Dhankar gompa. This gompa rests high over the valley and is a stupendous example of local architecture. Founded in 996 AD by the great teacher Richensang-po, Tabo is renowned for its breathtaking murals and stucco images – and is often called “The Ajanta of the Himalayas”. Tabo’s sanctity is next only to Tibet’s Tholing gompa. Overnight in tents at Tabo.

 

Day 08: Tabo – Sangla (185 kms)

Travel by jeep from Tabo to Sangla by jeep enroute visiting Nako, built around a lake, this is one of Kinnaur's most charming villages.  Travel onwards to Sangla passing Khab, the confluence of the rivers Spiti and Sutlej. On arrival check in at camps. Overnight in camps.

 

Day 09: Sangla

In picturesque settings and with interesting architecture, visit the village of Chitkul. Overnight in camps.

 

Day 10: Sangla – Sarahan (92 kms)

Travel by jeep from Sangla to Sarahan by jeep. On arrival check in at hotel. Afternoon visit the famous Bhimakali temple, regarded as one of the Shaktipeeths.

 

Day 11: Sarahan – Shimla (184 kms)

Travel by jeep from Sarahan to Shimla. On arrival check in at hotel. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 12: Shimla

Morning visit the Institute of Advanced Studies. Afternoon stroll through the famous shopping area of  Shimla- The Mall. Overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 13: Shimla – Delhi (372 kms)

Travel by car/ jeep from Shimla to Delhi and proceed directly to international airport to board flight for onward destination. End of the tour.

Manali - Keylong - Udaipur - Kaza - Manali

Day 02: Manali

Day 03: Manali – Keylong (115 kms)

Travel by jeep from Manali to Keylong enroute visiting the Rohtang Pass (3980 m). Overnight in tents at Keylong.

 

Day 04: Keylong

Morning visit the Khardong monastery 5 kms from Keylong. This monastery boasts of the largest strength of monks and nuns in the Lahaul region. Afternoon visit the Shashur Gompa, dedicated to Lama Gotsang of Zanskar. Overnight in tents at Keylong.

 

 

Day 05: Keylong – Udaipur (50 kms)

Travel by jeep to Udaipur enroute visiting Trilokinath temple. Trilokinath is one of the most ancient temples in Lahaul. Originally, it is dedicated to the Pandavas as legend says that Pandavas spent few days over here during their 14 years exile. Afternoon visit a temple in Udaipur highly remarkable for it’s woodcarvings and dedicated to Mrikula Devi, built during the 15th century. Overnight in tents at Udaipur.

 

Day 06: Udaipur – Batal (170 kms)

Travel by jeep from Udaipur to Batal. From Batal you can have a beautiful view of the CB ranges and a few glaciers. Overnight in tents at Batal.

 

Day 07: Batal - Kaza (88 kms)

Travel from Batal to Kaza by jeep over the Kunzam Pass (4558 m). Overnight in tents at Kaza.

Manali - Sarchu - Leh -  Sarchu - Keylong - Manali

Travel by jeep from Sarchu to Leh over the Baralacha (4892 m), Lachang (5065 m) and Tanglang (5360 m) passes. On arrival check-in in the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 05: Leh

AM half day sight seeing tour visiting Thiksey, Hemis and Shey monasteries. PM free. Overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 06: Leh

AM half day city sight seeing tour. PM free. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 07: Leh – Tsomoriri Lake (217 kms)

Travel by jeep from Leh to Tsomoriri, a beautiful lake ringed by mountains. Overnight in tents at Tsomoriri.

 

Day 08: Tsomoriri Lake – Leh (217 kms)

Travel by jeep from Tsomoriri to Leh. On arrival check in at the hotel. Overnight in hotel.

 

Day 09: Leh - Sarchu (251 kms)

Travel by jeep from Leh to Sarchu. On arrival check in at the camps. Overnight in camps.

 

Day 10: Sarchu – Keylong (114 kms)

Travel by jeep from Sarchu to Keylong. On arrival check in at hotel. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 11: Keylong

Today explore Keylong town and few of its surrounding villages. Also visit Khardong monastery. Overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 12: Keylong – Manali (115 kms)

Travel by jeep from Keylong to Manali. On arrival check-in in the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 13: Manali

AM half day sightseeing tour visiting Naggar village, Naggar Castle and Roerich Art Gallery. PM free. Overnight at the hotel.
